Welcome to the website of Give Bangladesh Foundation (“GBF”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, donations, and other online services.
By accessing or using this site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this site.
Give Bangladesh Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation registered under the laws of Bangladesh. Our mission is to engage people across the world in Bangladesh’s development through philanthropy, volunteerism and programmatic interventions across Climate Resilience & Environmental Stewardship, Economic Opportunity & Empowerment, and Access to Basic Needs & Human Dignity.
3.1. Permitted use
You may view, download and print materials from the site for informational and non-commercial purposes, provided you do not modify them and retain all copyright and trademark notices.
3.2. Prohibited use
You must not misuse the site (including uploading viruses or illegal content, hacking, harvesting data, or infringing others’ rights). GBF may suspend or terminate access for misuse.
3.3. User content
If you post content (comments, messages, contributions), you warrant you own the rights or have permission to post it. GBF may remove content that is unlawful, offensive or inconsistent with our mission.
4.1. General approach
Unless a donation is explicitly specified for a designated campaign, GBF will allocate donations where they are most needed and where they will best support GBF’s mission, following our Donor’s Bill of Rights and applicable accounting standards.
4.2. Payment processing
Online donations are processed via third-party payment gateways. By donating you authorise GBF and its payment providers to charge the amount you specify. Refunds are processed to the original payment method.
4.3. Refund policy
Donations made via our website may be refunded if a written request is received within 7 days of the donation. To request a refund, email info@givebangladesh.com. Refunds will be returned by the original payment method, subject to any fees charged by payment processors. (Refer to our Donation Handling Policy for further details.)
4.4. Donations are non-refundable in most cases
Except as above, donations are generally non-refundable. GBF may refuse a refund request in its reasonable discretion, for example where funds have already been disbursed or allocated.
5.1. Acceptance
GBF accepts cash, in-kind donations and certain tangible property when consistent with GBF’s mission and policies. The Donation Acceptance Committee reviews donations and may decline those that are too restrictive, illegal, or inconsistent with GBF’s objectives.
5.2. Donation Acceptance Committee
The Committee comprises the President of the Board, the Treasurer, and the Executive Director. Final decisions on acceptance or refusal rest with the Committee.
5.3. Appraisal & valuation
Non-cash donations valued over 500,000 BDT must be accompanied by a qualified appraisal. Costs for appraisals or legal review are normally the donor’s responsibility. GBF reserves the right to adjust recorded values where later information warrants it.
5.4. Prohibited donations
Donations that require GBF to engage in partisan political activity, illegal conduct, or would create unacceptable conflict of interest will be refused.
6.1. Fiduciary duty
GBF’s directors and staff have a fiduciary duty to use funds to further GBF’s charitable purposes and to avoid private insurance. No officer, director, employee or agent will receive inappropriate personal benefit from donations.
6.2. Transparency
GBF will maintain accurate financial records and publish annual reports. We follow good accounting practices and comply with Bangladesh reporting requirements.
6.3. Restricted funds
Where donations are restricted to a program, GBF will use those funds only for the stated purpose and will report on their use as appropriate
7.1. Banking & accounts
GBF’s bank accounts are maintained in the name of Give Bangladesh Foundation. Bank mandates and signatories are approved by the Board and documented in minutes.
7.2. Authorisation limits
Disbursements and commitments follow authorised signatory limits: payments above 500,000 BDT require Board-level approval (or as set in GBF’s Financial Management Policy). Disbursement procedures require original invoices and segregation of duties.
7.3. Procurement
For purchases above 200,000 BDT, at least three quotes will be obtained where practicable, and service contracts will be reviewed at least every three years.
8.1. Personal data
GBF collects, stores and uses personal information to process donations, manage programs and communicate with supporters. We handle personal information with confidentiality and in accordance with applicable laws.
8.2. Donor confidentiality
Donor information will not be sold, rented or traded. Donors may request removal from mailing lists or request details of stored personal data by emailing info@givebangladesh.com.
8.3. Cookies & analytics
Our website may use cookies and third-party analytics to improve user experience. By using the site you consent to such cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.
All content on the GBF website - text, images, logos, designs is the property of GBF or its partners and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. Permission is required for any commercial use.
The site may link to external websites. GBF is not responsible for the content or accuracy of external sites and inclusion does not imply endorsement. Use external links at your own risk.
GBF provides information “as is” and does not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GBF and its officers are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of the website or reliance on site content.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the site will be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts of Bangladesh unless parties agree otherwise.
GBF may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on the website with the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
